This over weekend was so exciting, because I finally got to see the ballet at Bolshoi theatre.
It is no doubt that Bolshoi theatre is the heart of Russian art&culture and always have some topics to talk about. It was reopend in 2011 after six-year- renovation and recently gave us the shocking news that the art director had acid attacked by someone.
モスクワ在住3年目にして、はじめてボリショイ劇場でバレエを観ました。
2011年に6年に及ぶ改修工事を終えて、リニューアルオープン。そして最近は、芸術監督が顔に硫酸をかけられるというスキャンダル。なにかと話題のつきない劇場です。
In 1825, Bolshoi theatre was built at the present location. It was massively damaged by fire in 1853 and only walls and pillars were left. Afterwords, reconstruction started and completed in 1856. This architecture style is called "Russian Clasicism", which is based on Ancient Greece and Roman style and developed in Russian way in the late18C-the early19C. Compared to European Baroque architecture, it looks even simple with minimum decorations. The symbol of the theatre, Apollo Quadriga is on the middle roof and welcoming us impressively. The top of the facade is carved in the double head eagle, which is the symbol of Russia.
この地に劇場が建てられたのは1825年。1853年の火災で大きな被害を受け、焼け残った壁と正面の柱をベースに再建。1856年に現在の姿が完成したそうです。この建築様式は「ロシア・クラシシズム」と呼ばれ、クラシシズム（古代ギリシャ・ローマ芸術・文化を模範とする動き）が18世紀後半～19世紀前半のロシアで独自に発展したスタイルだそうです。ヨーロッパでよく見られる豪華なバロック様式の建築と比べ、全体の印象は、むしろ簡素なくらい。正面にとりつけられたアポロンの4頭馬車が印象的です。頂のファサードにはロシアのシンボル、「双頭の鷲」の彫刻も見られます。
Now I get in ....very bright. I expected that interior should be heavy, but actually it is light.
The lobby is designed in white color base with an accent color, red, which is used for the carpet or parts of chandeliers.
中に入ると・・・意外とすっきり。重厚感というより軽やかで明るい印象。
ホワイエは白を基調とした壁や天井に、シャンデリア・赤色のアクセント（カーペット、シャンデリアの吊るし）が利いています。
It is very recommendable to see the lounge beside the lobby. Its color combination is arranged in the oppposite way to the lobby. The base color is red of the wall and accents in white.
開演前に時間があれば、ぜひ寄りたいのがラウンジ。ここのインテリアはロビーと逆。赤い壁が基調となり、部分的に白色がアクセントになっています。
And finally, I get in the main hall....So gorgeous!! Duzzeled by enormas gold and red.
After the light interior of the lobby, it comes with breath-taking impact. Six levels balconies are awesome, decorated with gold, gold, gold! Also the huge chandelier is suspended from the ceiling. This is exactly the kingdom of the dream.
そしてついにホールへ。そこは絢爛豪華な「ゴールド」と「赤」に目がくらくら。
ホール外の軽やかな雰囲気とのギャップがあり、夢の世界へ誘われるよう。
天井にはアポロとヴィーナスが描かれ、２６０kgあるといわれる豪華なシャンデリアが吊るされています。
By the way, "Bolshoi" means "Big" in Russian.
To tell the truth, when I first saw this theatre, it looked much smaller than I thought. In fact it has only 1700 seats, very compact. However, if you see the ballet here, you would find out that this is the best size. Even from the backside, we can see beautiful dancer's movement. Also this is the size that all the people in the theatre can share the emotion. Audience get moved and say, "BLABO!" and in return, the dancers come to greet us many times. This cozy and friendly mood is another attractive point, even though Boshoi is the world top theatre.
ところで「ボリショイ」はロシア語で「大き い」という意味です。
はじめてこの劇場を見たとき、これで大きいの？？とびっくりしました。客席は1700席。クレムリン内にあるホールが6000人収容できるのと比べ、かなりこじんまりとしています。
でも実際バレエを観れば、これくらいのサイズが一番良いことに気づきます。後方でも、バレリーナの美しい動きの一つ一つが肉眼で見れる限界。そしてなにより、ステージとの一体感。客席からは、すばらしい演技の後に必ず「ブラボー」の掛け声があがり、終演後はキャストが何度も何度もアンコールに答えてステージに現れる。世界トップクラスの劇場でありながら、居心地の良い温かな雰囲気があるのもボリショイの魅力でしょう。
