Petrozabodsk to visit
Kizhi island. Petrozabodsk is the capital city of the Republic of Karelia in north Russia near the boader with Finland. By train, it takes about 14 hours from Moscow.
本格的なバケーション・シーズン。多くの外国人は母国や他国へとバカンスに飛んでいってしまいました。ロシアで夏を過ごしながら、少しスローな時を楽しみたいときは、列車の旅などいかがでしょうか？６月、私達は夜行列車でのんびりペトロザボーツクへ。世界遺産の木造建築で有名なキジー島を訪れるためです。ペトロザボーツクは、ロシア連邦カレリア共和国の首都で、北方ロシア、フィンランドとの国境に位置します。モスクワから列車で14時間くらいかかります。

| The train and attendant of Russian railways |
The train departured at midnight from Leningradskiy Railway station. It was Wednesday, though the middle of the week,the station was packed with passengers. By the train, the attendants stood dressed in uniform with a red bellet hat , they are usually women aged around 50. They shortly checked our e-tickets and allowed us to get in. We passed through the narrow aile and found our compartment with 4beds in the standard class. In the cabin, it was dark and hot. At any stops, airconditioner and some lights were automatically turned off.
列車はレニングラード鉄道駅から真夜中に出発しました。週中ばの水曜夜にも関わらず、駅は乗車客でいっぱい！列車近くには、赤いベレーハットが可愛いユニフォームを着たアテンダントが立っていました。私達のＥチケットをさっと確認して、中へと案内します。せまい通路を通り、自分たちの客室にたどり着きました。スタンダートクラスの４ベッドタイプの客室は、うす暗くて暑い空間でした。というのも、列車が止まっている間はエアコンやライトが自動的に止まってしまうのです。

Probably there are two types of night trains running between Murmansk and Moscow. The new train has better cabins, such as "soft ", "business" or " luxury" class with a comfortable beds, private bathroom and restaurant wagon. It seemed that we chose the old one, then our travel became more fun! For me, everything looked retro and cool, especially the hot water machine was interesting.
ムルマンスク－モスクワ間には、どうやら2タイプの夜行列車が走っているようです。新しいタイプには、「ソフト」「ビジネス」「ラグジュアリー」というクラスがあり、快適なベッド、シャワールーム、レストラン車両が備えられているようなのです。私達は、古いタイプを選んでしまったみたいで・・・でもだからこそ旅はおもしろい！私にはすべてがレトロで面白く思えました。とくにびっくりしたのは、給湯器！なんとも無骨なデザイン。

On our old train, there was a food/drink supply, but only tea, coffee and cookies served by the attendant. How could we make our appetite satisfied during 14hrs journey? On the route, we got only one stop where we could buy some food. When we arrived there, local vendors was waiting for us to sell ice-creams, beers,strawberries, newspapers, homemade bread and dried fish. The train stayed there for 30mins and we had a nice sunny break at the outdoor platform.
私たちを乗せた古～い列車には食料販売はあったのですが、買えたのは紅茶、コーヒー、クッキーぐらい。14時間、このままでは腹ペコです。。途中、食料を買えたのは途中停車の一箇所だけ。列車が到着するのを待ち構えるように、売り子達がアイスクリーム、ビール、新聞、自家製ピロシキや魚の干物を持って現れました。停車時間は約30分、私達は太陽がサンサンと降りそそぐ中、屋外のプラットフォームで一休みできたのです。

On the second day at 4PM, we finally arrived at Petrozavodsk station. The clear blue sky and the bright sunshine refreshed our eyes. I sensed the atmosphere in north Russia. Our adventure had just started.
2日目の午後4時、ついにペトロザボーツク駅に到着。澄み切った青空とキラキラ輝くお日様が、目を覚ましてくれるよう。モスクワとは異なる、北方ロシアの空気を感じ取りました。さあ、私達の冒険は始まったばかりです！
