"дом"<Dom> is the word stands for a house or a building.
Generally when we talk about "дом", it means apartments.
Large numbers of apartments are uniformed in several types and standing in orderly way.
When I first saw them, I felt like Iwas in the block city. Exactly same size, same distance and same quality.
The design details and shapes of buildings tell us the Russian history.
They have been followed political trends and clearly reflected in apperance and quality.
I walked around the city and found some types of "дом".
ロシア語で「ドム」は、家や建物を意味します。
日常会話の中でドムの話というと、住んでいるアパートのことになります。
モスクワで見られるアパートの多くは、画一的で整然と並んでいて・・・
はじめて見たときは、まるでブロックの街にいるみたい！！と思ったものです。
デザインや形に着目すると、いくつかのパターンが見えてきます。
ソ連時代「ドム」は政府によって計画的に建てられたので、年代によってその企画が一様なのです。
街歩きしながら、いくつかのパターンを見つけてみました。
1.Pre-revolutionary (built in the late 19th to 20th) －1917年のロシア革命以前、社会主義国家になる前です。
My favorite one. Very charming with beautiful facades and antique entrances.
Colors are pretty as well, most of them are painted in pale pink, blue, yellow and green.
私の好きな様式です。ヨーロッパの影響の受けた美しいファサードとアンティークな風情の玄関。
色合いもとっても可愛くて、淡いピンク、ブルー、イエロー、グリーン。並んでいると砂糖菓子みたい。
2.Stalin-era buildings(built in 1930-1950)－スターリン様式
The most Powerful design, as Stalin was. We see giant gray buildings on the main streets.
In residential area, we also see beautiful brick buildings built in this era.
スターリンの権力を存分にアピールしている様式です。とても男性的で威圧的。
住宅地には立派なレンガ造りのドムがあり、これもスターリン様式と呼ばれています。
3.Panel and block buildings(1960-1990)－パネル・ブロック様式
This is what I called "Block city". In this era, communist leaders tried to resolve housing issue for ordinary people
and created low cost buildings.
スターリンの死後、一般市民にアパートを供給するため経済的かつ機能的な住居が開発されました。
私が「ブロックの街」とよんだ様式です。味気ないけど、ミニマムなデザインが面白い。
4..Modern developments(2000~)－近代建築
During the last decades, new rich Russians demanded for modern luxrious apatments
and a significant numbers of high-end complexes appeared.
Of course, their design don't follow political matters any more. Some have odd looking in the original landscape.
2000年以降、上昇するロシア経済とともに現れたニューリッチの需要にこたえ、
豪華で近代的な設備を伴うアパートが次々と登場しました。もちろんもう社会主義国家ではないので、
デザインは自由。周囲と全くマッチしていないものも・・・（というか、これもブロックみたい）
It is very important to find a nice "дом to spend long long winter time.
Most of expats like us prefer to live in the modern apartments, because it's simply comfortable
especially with children.
But I think.....as long as we live in such new buildings, we never know the real taste of Moscow life.
ロシアは冬が長いので、よい「ドム」を見つけることは本当にたいせつ。
私を含めて多くの外国人は、2000年以降にできたアパートに住んでいます。
とくに子連れの場合、それ以前の建物に住むのは設備的に難しく感じます。
でも本当は、歴史のあるドムに住んで真のモスクワライフを味わってみたいとも思います・・・
