Recently I noticed that we can see Russian fairy tale world in the heart of Moscow, just next to Kremlin! Between Manezhnaya squre and the kremlin, there is the fountain with 4 horses. From that fountain the small stream is running, there you can see heroes of Russian fairy tales. I wonder why I have missed them so far, even I passed there so many times. Probably they are covered with snow in winter time, and I always looked forward to kremlin. Besides, I haven't seen any description about it in Japanese guide books.
実は最近気づいたのですが、おとぎの世界はモスクワのど真ん中、クレムリンのすぐそばにもあります！マネージ広場とクレムリンの間に、4頭の馬の彫刻が立つ噴水があります。その噴水から小さな小川が流れていて、そこにロシアのおとぎ話の主人公達がいるのです。今まで何度も通っている場所なのに、なぜ気づかなかったのでしょう。。。たぶん冬の間は雪に覆われていたのでしょう、そしてここを通るときはクレムリンばかり見ていました。それに日本のガイドブックにはなんの記述もありません。

Among Russian people, the statue of "The fisherman and the fish" seems to be the popular place for photography. Many people get close to the statue and smile at the camera. Actually the best shot might be taken behind the statue, because you can take kremlin in the background as well. If you like Russian fairy tales, don't miss this place.
ロシア人の間では、どうやら「漁師と魚の物語」の像は人気の撮影スポットのようです。たくさんの人が像に近づき、笑顔でカメラに向かいます。でも実は、ベストショットは像の後ろ側から撮れるかも・・・。背景にクレムリンも撮れるのですから。もしロシアのおとぎ話がお好きなら、ぜひこの場所を訪れてみてください。

These sculptures were created by Zurab Tsereteli, a Georgian-Russian painter, sculptor and architect. He is famous as a designer of Peter the Great Statue in Moscow. According to Wikipedia, In 1990s under the Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov, manazhnaya squre was rennovated to the modern centre and set some tourists attraction like these.
これらの彫刻は、Zurab Tsereteli氏というグルジア系ロシア人の画家・彫刻家・建築家によってデザインされました。彼はモスクワ川のピョートル大帝像のデザイナーとしても有名です。Wikipediaによると、1990年代にモスクワ市長のYuryLuzhkov氏によって、マネージ広場は改修工事が行われ近代的な空間に生まれ変わったそうです。その際、旅行者を楽しませるためにこれらの彫刻を設置したとか。
